Observing a master weaver and processor of Tafu-an (mulberry cloth weaving) working on preparing fiber to then be hand spun and woven into cloth. This is magic! Anyone interested in textiles must visit this place. It is the last studio in the world to weave this historic cloth (Tafu-ori) and they do it every Tuesday. It was utilized before cotton. Such skill and so much beauty in this technique and must be shared. Located in Kito about and hour or two south of Tokushima. Everyone we met was so lovely and I truly appreciate them letting me visit to watch them weave this incredible cloth. #tafucloth #tafuweaving #mulberrycloth #mulberryweaving #kitobunkahall @makikogemba #weaving #theoriginalcotton #loom #kito @rickettsindigo
